Killing of Children in Gaza

I don't have much time right now, as I want to go down to East Jerusalem to witness and take pictures of the protests there (about the killings in Gaza), but I wanted to remind you all to check out Susie's posts in the last few days about these awful killings.

This is an unspeakable crisis. 27 people killed by the IDF in the just 48 hours! Gaza is the size of Philadelphia, with about as many people (1.5 million). Can you imagine what would happen if 27 people were killed in Philly by the government in just 48 hours?

Susie's blog is: http://pfp2008trip.blogspot.com/

She has posted a number of news stories, pictures, and links about this. Please read them.

The situation in Gaza is heartbreaking. No child should ever live in fear of being hurt or killed. However, there are a few things you neglected to mention, or quoted inaccurately.
To mention just 2 things that caught my eye, the IDF attacks in Gaza came in response to 7 years of Israeli CIVILIANS being attacked by Qassam missiles. Since the summer of 2005, when Israel withdrew ALL its settlements from Gaza, there is no occupation there. Still, the missiles are flying every day, hitting the town of Sderot and the Kibbutzim around it. That area was never considered Palestine...
Secondly, the Israeli government did NOT declare a Holocaust on Gaza. The Deputy to the Minister of Defence, Matan Vilna'ee said: "By continuing the missile bombing, the Palestinians are bringing a Holocaust on themselves". Maybe it wasn't the smartest thing to say, but it is certainly not an official declaration of an intended Genocide on the Palestinians.
The Palestinian- Israeli is a complicated, painful, tragic story of missed opportunities. It is NOT black and white.

one thing you [michal] neglect to mention is that since Israel's so called "withdrawal" they've been starving the entire population, plunging them into darkness by cutting off electricity, promoting waterborne diseases by preventing water treatment, and generally squeezing the life out of 1.5 million human beings. People like you then have the audacity to point to Kassam rockets as provocation for a more acute dose of death. The fact is, and always has been, is that Palestinians are raped, robbed, violated, humiliated and killed every day for one reason and only one reason: because they are not Jewish. Only immoral propagandists like you will point to the victims with blame. I would encourage you to read more about the Warsaw ghetto uprising. Nazi quotes about defending themselves against terrorists who hide behind civilians are bitterly similar to Israel's excuse for mass killings.

they have never withdrawn . the settlers left true but the IDF never left first they closed the gates all of them , they control the sea and air and have shot many fishermen trying to make a living , (even a family at the beach, killed a whole family including babies , family of Huda Ghallia if you see her video on youtube you will defend the palestinian cause ) the tanks still destroy homes and roam around them like hungry hyneas , while the F16 shoot at homes and rooftops where many civilians had been killed , they shoot at a moving car that has a resistant fighter and kill 3 to 4 passerbys that s what they do since they "liberated" Gaza . Gaza can not sell its produce and make a living the gates are closed , last february they fed their flowers to the cattle because they could not send them to Europe , no salaries are allowed , not even Arabic donations because Israel says so . so do you really call that liberation ?? please have a heart .
